Scrapbook. Folio sized scrapbook. 15" x 12.5". [20] leaves. All sides of paper are used for pasted down cards, etc. Burgundy colored illustrated embossed covers with inlaid pasted down color illustration center of the front cover. Tears to the head and base of the spine. Front hinge is broken exposing the spine. Rear hinge is cracked. Pages are brittle, edge chipped with some detached leaves and others starting to detach. The contents are mostly unaffected. Interior clean with exception of a few leaves once stuck together now separated resulting in minor scuffing to some of the contents. Fair.
On the front paste down is a printed and filled in certificate for the owner of this album. The certificate reads: "A Testimonial of Approbation. Presented to (Edna M. Blanchard) for h(er) punctual attendance with correct deportment and diligent attention to h(er) Studies during the term ending November fifth, 1880 (Helen C. Kinney) Teacher." On the rear paste down is another printed and filled in certificate that is a school diploma. The writing is very faint but Edna's name and Caledonia County, VT are visible on the diploma. Fair.
