Document. Document. Approximately 7.5" x 7.5". Folded. Creased on the top and bottom edges with tiny loss of the written word "Clarke" top edge. Paper is edge chipped on the left side with no loss of content. About good condition. Printed and written document reads:

Alabama Territory (printed Mississippi Territory marked out) Clarke County. Know all men by these present, that we Laban Rigger and William Parker are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of the Alabama Territory (Mississippi marked out) and his successors in office, in the sum of two hundred dollars, lawful money of the United States, which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, firmly these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this Seventeenth day of September 1818. THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if there be no just cause or impediment why Laban Rigger and Darcus Anderson shall not be joined together in the holy State of Matrimony, the above obligation to be void; otherwise, to be and remain in full force and effect.
