Illustrated with 4 folding maps including North America, United States of America, South America, and Africa. Leather is rubbed, scuffed on the boards and cover edges. Joints are cracked. Small crack on the spine. Light toning to the contents. Light creases at the map folds with a small closed tear in the gutter of the United States map. Maps are in good condition.
Previous owner inscription written on the right front flyleaf "Dan Robinson Owner Price $2.00 No. 64 ? Bound Books No. 48." Notes and a paper clipping on the front paste down. Notes and clipping refer to tide tables taken from an 1826 almanac. Clipping mentions Sandy Hook, Hells Gate and Albany. More notes on the blank end paper before the title page. News clippings pasted down on the rear end sheets refers to "Natural Wonders" in Georgia and South Carolina stating that "The Tuccoa-fall is much higher than the falls of Niagara" and on the rear flyleaf another clipping references Table-mountain in the Pendleton district of South Carolina claiming "is an awful precipice of 9000 feet."
