First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. [2], 364 pages, [2]. Frontispiece engraving. Brown cloth hardcover with gilt lettered title on the spine. Repaired. The brown cloth covered boards have been dyed to cover up faded and insect damaged to the cloth. Back cover has an indentation center of the cover. The front and rear hinges have been repaired with brown mulberry paper. Some of title lettering restored. Light toning and occasional foxing to the contents. Fair.
Members of the relief association included D. D. Fiske, James G. Holladay, Geo. W. Peete, Joseph N. Schoolfield, Holt Wilson, Winchester Watts, and Samuel T. Hartt. Presentation inscription written on the peach colored right front flyleaf - "Presented to Thomas E. Nimmo by Winchester Watts Esq." Small printed name label of T. E. Nimmo on the front paste down. Another previous owner bookplate of "Wm. L. Zimmer, Petersburg, Va" on the front paste down. Fair. Item #32121
