Hardcover. Approx. 10" x 7" oblong quarto sketch book with cloth covered boards. Book includes a cloth tie. Approx. 20 black and white illustrations of different sizes and types inside. Provenance unknown. Front hinge of the book is cracked. Sketches are original and prints. Most are laid inside. Few names are associated with the works. One work titled "Umbria" is signed. The small print of "Lilienstein" is signed on the back.
Contents include a full page sketch, dated 1893, of the "Umbria" a British luxury ship that operated between 1884 to 1908. Other sketches (some by hand) are of English and European sites including Oxford, Falls near Meiringen, Lilienstein, Salisbury, Worcester College Garden, and more. Some of the black and white sketches are not named. A few of the illustrations are cut outs. One cut color lithograph laid inside. Good. Item #31757
