Illustrated. This is an ex-library copy rebound in brown buckram with gilt title on the spine. Newer white end sheets front and back. Ex-library withdrawn stamp "Mpls Library" on the right front flyleaf; perforated punched library marking "Mpls Library "on the title page; and stamp "Officially Withdrawn from the Mpls Public Library" on the verso of the title page. Another perforated stamp page 100. Binding cords slightly visible in many places in the gutters but the text is very tightly bound with no loose pages. Contents are in good condition with occasional light foxing or spotting.
Illustrated with 48 plates; one folding map (after page 300); 3 map plans in text; and one large engraved map in text. This copy includes a pasted down photograph portrait of Anna Ramsey wife of Governor Ramsey after page 495. Engraved illustrations include several Native American views and portraits of leading men and women of Minnesota. Several of the engraved plates were drawn by Capt. S. Eastman U.S. Army. Scarce copy.
