First Edition. Hardcover. Custom binding. Original yellow printed wraps bound inside half leather and marbled paper covered boards. Title on the leather spine. 13 pages, [1] page blank, [1] blank. Dozens of blank pages inserted after the rear wrap. Floral end sheets. Title labels on the spine are a bit rubbed and chipped. Old book description clipped and pasted to the front paste down. Evidence of bookplate or label removal from the front paste down. Contents are the first official act of the Confederacy with members of the Convention listed on pages 11-13. First issue with "Streets" instead of "Street" on the front title wrap. The declaration was authored by C. G. Memminger who later became the Secretary of the Treasury in the Confederate Government.
