First Edition. Leather bound. Octavo. [1], 325 pages, [1]. Marbled calf leather binding with red leather title label on the spine. Moderate toning and foxing to the contents. Leather covers are edge worn and rubbed. Covers slightly bowed. Front outer joint is cracked and front cover loose. A piece of white linen tape is partly holding the front cover to the binding. Written on the tape in blue ink - "Mehitable Arnold Wife of James Utter Arnold 1814." On the right front flyleaf is an old ink signature name of Oliver Carpenter. Below that name is an old ink name of "Mehitabel Arnold", (spelled with letters 'bel' at the end of the name). Next to the name, written in blue ink in parenthesis are the dates "1777/8-1864". Two small square stickers with the written note in blue ink - "Mehitable Carpenter Mar. May 5, 1799 James Utter Arnold b. 1776 d. 1852 in Warwick RI" pasted down under Mehetabel Arnolds name on the right front flyleaf. A small copy of the Arnold family crest laid tipped on the right front flyleaf. Address label of a Philip Arnold, Warwick, R. I. also located on the right front flyleaf. Fair. Item #27519
