Hardcover. Small quarto. [4], 529 pages. Frontispiece portrait of Lydia Sherman Scott. Red cloth hardcover with gilt title on the front cover and spine. Light edge wear to the cloth extremities. Thin vertical crease to the entire spine. A couple of pencil notes on page 323. 5 misc. pieces of paper, ephemera laid inside this copy including a 2 page letter dated 1848 from West Bridgewater. Previous owner name inscription "Bernard Cumming Sherman 1945" written on the front paste down. A later owner's inscription written on the verso of the right front flyleaf. Very good. Item #27058
