First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. Second Series Vol. II only. viii, 326 pages, [1]. Blueish marbled paper covered boards with leather corners. Leather spine with raised bands and title label. Ex-library copy from Bates College Library with label removed from spine, pasted down label front end sheet (with a withdrawn stamp), blind embossed library stamp on the title page and page 77, and card pocket (with card) on the rear paste down. Leather is scuffed. The green right front flyleaf is detached. Interior contents very clean. This is the second volume (of 2) in the second series. Volume I of the second series is not available. In all there were three volumes constituting the first and second series. According to Howes "together they represent the diplomatic maneuvers concerning the conflicting claims to Oregon and the adjustment of Northwestern boundary line. English editions of both series probably have priority."
