A faint, blind embossed circular seal located on the lower right edge of the front page. This Union newspaper was printed very early during General Sherman’s occupation of Savannah. Paper includes news of Union and Rebel war activity; an article titled “Rebel Reports about Gen. Sherman.”; “A Notice to the Citizens.” by Savannah Mayor R. D. Arnold regarding dividing the city into wards for “distributing provisions for the destitute”; news from Headquarters; and several placed ads. Good. Item #25617
