First Edition. Hardcover. 12mo. 2 volumes: 348 pages; 360 pages, [12] pages of advertisements. Frontispiece engraving of the author. Covers are ruled in blind with gilt titles on the spines. Cloth is lightly chipped head and base of the spines and lightly worn on the extremities. The right front flyleaf, frontispiece engraving, and title page are starting to detach volume 1. A thin crack to the front hinge volume 1. In volume 2 pages 35-38 are loose. The interior hinge is broken between pages 24-25. The frontispiece is foxed. Light toning and scattered foxing to the contents.
