First Edition. Leather bound. Octavo. 751 pages. [1] page advertisement. A couple of in text illustrations. Brown marbled paper covered boards with brown leather corners and spine. Title labels on the spine. Ex-institutional copy with a small withdrawn stamp from the University of Minnesota on the front paste down. Small paper library label on the spine. The first 4 preliminary pages were not bound in this copy including the title page, and 2 pages of index to contents. The front cover is slightly loose. Leather is rubbed on the edges and scuffed upper spine. Interior contents are very clean. Previous owner's name on the first page. Contributions to this periodical include several scientific and medical articles by various researchers and doctors. Towards the latter half of the journal are articles relating to the Civil War including - "Purlent Opthalmia of Armies"; "Case of Amputation"; and "Directions to Army Surgeons on the Field of Battle.
