First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. xxiv, 497 pages, [1]. Illustrated with a frontispiece bust of Petigru. Illustrated. Dark blue cloth hardcover with gilt illustrated Coat of Arms on the front cover. Title on the spine. The front hinge and the rear hinges are cracked and starting to pull. A tipped in folded promotional broad sheet advertisement for the book is location between the front paste down and right front flyleaf where the hinge is cracked. A news clipping titled "Text of an Epitaph" is tipped in between the copyright and dedication pages. Pages 144 and 115 browned upper edges probably from a removed paper clipping. Hand written genealogy in light pencil on xxiv (blank). Good. Item #17337
