Dud Dean Yarns

Bingham, Maine: The Bingham Press, 1934.

First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. [5], 181 pages. Brown cloth hardcover with title on the spine. Light to moderate occasional foxing throughout the contents. This is a series of stories about fishing in Maine. From the foreword, "Those who know Dud's beloved country, will recognize that certain incidents and figures of speech, which appear in these stories, have been gleaned from the fish-yarn lore of the Upper Kennebec. Every stream and lake that is mentioned is an actual bit of Somerset County, and the publishers have suggested that a page be included, at the back of the book, to which the reader may turn for exact locations." The list of locations in back include Kilgore, Dimicks, Robinson and Heald Ponds, Pleasant Pond, Caucomgomoc, Elm, Iron Bound or Wentworth, Pshaw, Pierce Pond, East Carry and East Branch. This copy has a hand number 68 written in the upper corner of the right front flyleaf. Does not appear to be a limited edition. Fair. Item #17038
