Lot 12 issues January thru December 1865 of the German language American publication titled: "Deutsch-Amerkanische Monatshefte Fur Politck, Wissenschaft, und Literatur". 574 pages January-June 1865; 576 pages July-December 1865. Advertisements in the back of each journal. Condition of the lot is fair to good with light to moderate damp-stains to the covers and text. The outer wraps are in fair condition with damp-stains, chips, edge wear, etc. Paper on the spines is mostly missing. Old ink name top of each issue on the outer wrap. A sampling of articles and poetry include a poem on Fort Sumter in March; an article on Missouri April; an article on Abraham Lincoln in the May; an article on Aaron Burr in June and July issues, 5 page advertisement titled, "Missouri! Das freie Miffouri" placed in August, September, and October issues; and an article on Missouri in November. The editor Caspar Butz (1825-1885) was a German-American writer and politician who emigrated to Chicago in 1849.
