Text is toned. Faded previous owner name stamp of J. E. Long located on the right front flyleaf and rear end paper. Much of the contents pertains to Alabama's involvement in the Civil War. It includes appropriations for the defense of Mobile, enrollment of Creoles in the militia for defense of Mobile, taxation of slaves, and impressment of slaves into military service. Confederate imprint. Montgomery, Alabama was the first capital of the Confederacy from February 1861 to May, 1861.
