Hardcover. 16mo. (approx. 5.25" x 3.25") iv, 139 pages. Fragile hardcover with period? greenish floral paper covered boards and spine. The paper is chipped in several locations on the binding exposing the thin grained wood covers and spine. The outer joints on the front board are cracked. The front board is loose but held to the binding with one thin strip of paper. The rear board outer joint is also cracked and loose but is more securely attached than the front board. The lower section of the right front flyleaf is separating from the lower gutter. On the right front flyleaf is a lengthy period religious inscription with the name "Francis F. Brusie" written three times. The text has light toning and is in very good condition. This title first appeared in London 1722. Earlier American editions include 1797, 1798, and 1800. The author, Penelope Aubin, 1679-1731, was an English novelist and moralistic writer.
